The information and websites from the Show-and-Tell session are useful teaching resources. Ms. Rachel Cannady's Copyright or Copywrong session on copyrighting contained pertinent information thats important for educators to be aware of. Published materials before 1923 is in the public domain. Published material should be used for educational purposes only and not for profit. There are copyright friendly images and sounds available for teachers to use. We were advised to go for the older published materials.

The GAETI Team presented Show-and-Tell. Dr. Lee's session, Setting up a Canvas course showed the many uses of Canvas Instructure in the classroom. Dr. Beriswill taught us Presentation Tips and Powerpoint. I learned a lot through the interesting practice she provided to us, it was very helpful. Ms. Latham's Art classes are interesting and meaningful. We worked on emphasizing our subject area (mine's is Social Studies) through art, using a variety of medias provided to us. We worked with watercolors, chalk, acrylic paints, colored markers and presently glass cutting. Ms. Latham demonstrated to us in small groups on how to cut glass, we all wore goggles during the process. We selected colorful glass pieces to cut in a shape that are then fused (heated to melt,) these are cooled and arranged on our projects to decorate and enhance them.

CCSS Presentaion
Our session this morning gave us the information to plan effective lessons for our students. Mr Segalini informed us that teaching the standards will make MCT2 a success and to start planning our lessons with standards. Reading and writing are to be integrated into every subject, everyday, no worksheets. Standards beg for integration of science, history and technology. Teachers are to provide scaffolding, interventions, and intermediate planning for students that need this assistance. The activities were educational and interesting and the web sites will be beneficial to use in teaching our students.

Service-Learning/21st Century; MS Youth Highway Safety
The Show and Tell from my fellow teachers was very informative and we were given helpful on line sites for us to visit for effective teaching, and immediate feedback to teachers, students and parents. The Service-Learning/21st Century Skills is for global and critical thinkers to be cohesive and work together. Service learning is good to get students out in the neighborhood to see the problems, and the real struggles of people in need of their neighborhood. We as educators want to prepare our students, by having them to fully develop their soft skills and hard skills that are necessay for success in their future educatiional and work endeavors.
Economics
This economic lesson was informative, interesting and enjoyable. We learned that economics is about trade and that trade is how economics emerged, in order to satisfy ones want. We learned that we can be proud of Mississippi for being in the top 10 of economic education, and that most of the time we are in the top 5. We learned that economics is not money and that money is a vehicle to make trade easier. Dr. Smith had us to write the answers to our questions, becasuse writing is the completion of thinking. This underscored to me how valuable writing is and that it should be use often in the education of our youths and it is good for therapy also with the elderly who have been through traumatic situations, as the recent tornado in Louisville, MS. We were given the activity, "How does a waitress make a pencil?" a very enlightening activity to use with students. Many lessons can be built on this. Its takes 3 different countries to produce the needed materials to manufacture this common, but complicated and beautiful item.

Literacy Strategies
I found the scalloping, small group learning, standards and TBL learning most helpful. The scalloping can be used in reading and writing grouping of 4 students of high and lower achievers. The high achievers will support and withdraw when their support is no longer needed in mastering that objective. The literacy strategies will be effective in teaching students to use and apply course concepts in groups of 5-7 students to support common core reading and writing.

Overview & objectives; CCSS and your subject areas
The two things that I found most helpful today was Backward design planning and collaboration among subject areas teachers. Backward design(understanding by design) Consist of three questions: Where are we going? (strands, competsencies, & objectives); How will we know when we have arrived? ( assessment); How will we get there? (content and learning activities). Answering these questions will assist in the planning of effective lessons. Googling 'Expand collaboration' to also collaborate with teachers at other schools outside of my school and country will be helpful for effective ideas to incorporate in my lesson planning and teaching.

Geocache
The geocache activity was interesting, challenging, educational and enjoyable. This group activity could be implemented for virtual tours of local areas, historical sites, places of interest, etc. and by using the geocache devices in groups of 3 or 4 by placing the questions in strategic locations using coordinates.
